The Portuguese star could have joined Real Madrid's rivals after erstwhile Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson "offered" him to the Catalans
Cristiano Ronaldo turned down the chance to join Barcelona before his world-record deal to join Real Madrid, former ex-Blancos president Ramon Calderon has revealed.
The Portuguese star joined Madrid in 2009 for a fee of €94 million from Manchester United and has become a huge hit at the Santiago Bernabeu, winning the 2013 Ballon d'Or for his sensational performances for both club and country.

But now Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Statham are better than ever - with a country wedding
planned for this summer.
The couple have finally set a date to tie the knot following engagement rumours, with Devon top of their list for later this year.
A source exclusively told Yahoo Celebrity: "They're getting married this summer, it'll be a country wedding where Rosie grew up in Devon, close to her parents' farm.

Luc Besson EuropaCorp plans to reboot the franchise, however there's a twist. Jason Statham will not be returning.
News out of the Berlin Film Festival suggests Luc Besson's EuropaCorp is moving ahead with a reboot of the Transporteraction film franchise, promising an additional three movies!
