It seems nature has produced two players in the same generation that despite coming from different places seem to have been cast from the same mould. They are both 186 centimetres tall, they have similar weights and have a similar build. They would be an exact replica of each other if it wasn't for a slight difference: Cristiano Ronaldo was born right footed and Gareth bale left footed. Each one is, in fact, a mirror image of the other. They both have the trademark build of a speedster. They stretch their powerful necks, adjust their positions and let rip with the catapults in their quadriceps. Their build gives them three qualities that are essential tools for their trade: explosive acceleration, a large stride and a sledgehammer shot. They also both have all the skills that normally allow lighter players with a smaller frame to stand out, survivors that have to beat power with trickery. If required, they know how to apply the brakes, display some fancy footwork, drop a shoulder and make the ball disappear from the opposition. Whilst Cristiano has only messed around with his hair or the colour of his boots, Gareth has actually made a change to his body shape. More of an aerodynamic necessity that an aesthetic whim, one day he decided to get his ears pinned back. With his explosive pace and his 'Dumbo' ears, he might have actually taken off one day. As well as having similar cybernetic similarities, it's also suspected that they'll both play in the Real Madrid front line soon. Two razor sharp edges of a double-edged blade.
