Cristiano hits form

PORTUGUESE ADAPTS TO ANCELOTTI STYLE AFTER PRE-SEASON

Cristiano seems unstoppable. In the Portuguese's fifth pre-season at Real Madrid he has shown that the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti has spurned him on even more.
Despite being moved out of his ordinary position - now in a more central role and even as a lone striker - the Madrid number 7 has shown he is the man to lead the team in its new era. Ronaldo has demonstrated he can take onboard the instructions from the Italian coach and why he is one of the best players in the world.
Ronaldo's motivation has been evident right from the very first training session at Valdebebas. His place in the starting XI seems to be guaranteed, but the Portuguese worked from the first day to prove his worth. If there was any doubt, Ronaldo's recent displays have put the record straight.
On Saturday, he scored another trademark goal. A fine pass by Casemiro into space found the forward, who then swept the ball past goalkeeper Handanovic to claim Real's second goal.
Ronaldo was involved at all times, as he cut in from the left. He linked up well with Kaká and Modric, as the teammates produced several give-and-go passes.
During the pre-season, the Portuguese has scored 6 goals, as well as setting up several more. The first match against Bournemouth saw him bag a brace. Real's first match against Betis is just one week away and the striker heads into the new league campaign in fine form.
